Oops!

Moving on to the visible outworking of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the Corinthians, Paul begins by listing a number of spiritual gifts, given by the Spirit to believers, and then seeks to explain that a diversity of such gifts is essential to the healthy functioning of the church body. Whether some of these gifts were only for the Apostolic age and have ceased to be necessary, once that period ended, or whether they all continue to the present day will be a view each believer has to arrive at themselves.
