Oops!

After asking the Corinthians to choose the better way – love – Paul returns to the spiritual gifts of tongues and prophecies. Always referring to tongues as known languages only unknown to the speaker, Paul lays out principles for their place in church gatherings. However he emphasises the superiority of prophecy as this gift benefits the church not just the individual. In all situations God’s people are to do things in an orderly fashion as God is not the author of confusion but of peace.
