Oops!

Paul brings up a subject that we may be reluctant to mention – he reminds the Corinthian believers to deliver on their promise to provide financial assistance to the church in Jerusalem. In their enthusiasm to give, to supply the need of Jewish believers, the church in Corinth had set an example to other Gentile churches. Paul was concerned that they shouldn’t embarrass either him or themselves by not keeping their word. God is concerned with our hearts when we give – He wants us to be cheerful givers.
