1 Corinthians 4.

Paul continues to try to reframe the perspective of the Corinthians believers. They should not be elevating the apostles, instead Paul uses the picture of ship slaves to represent himself and Apollos. They are mere stewards of the work which God has given them to do. It is their responsibility to faithfully carry out their master’s will. Moved to use sarcasm, Paul points out the Corinthians’ foolishness to think of themselves as better qualified to teach and judge than Paul and the other apostles.
