Oops!

This Psalm is one of a number of warnings in God’s Word concerning the dangers of placing our trust in money and possessions instead of in the living God. People who trust in their own financial resources, or who admire those who do, are presented here with the reality of where this misplaced trust will take them. It’s a warning to those who are wealthy and it is a comfort to those who might not have much of value in this world’s estimation but who have placed their faith in the creator of the universe.
