Oops!

Eighteen years after telling us about the episode in the Temple, from Jesus’ youth, Luke picks up his story by returning to John whose birth he had documented at the start of his gospel. John is living in the wilderness and baptising those who respond to his message of repentance. This is still the message that we need to hear, and act on, if we are to be made right with God. And it is only God that can lead us to respond to it.
