Oops!

This time it’s the turn of the Sadducees to test Jesus with a question. Although this group of Jewish leaders do not believe in the resurrection they choose this as the subject of a story about a woman who through circumstances beyond her control has seven husbands. “Whose wife will she be after the resurrection?” they ask. Jesus sheds light on life after death by saying there will be no marriage there and goes on to challenge the Sadducees by quoting God’s words from Exodus where He says that He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, all dead at this point but living with God.
