Oops!

Taking the three disciples who formed His inner-circle of friends – Peter, James and John – Jesus went up a high mountain where He revealed some of His divine glory to them. Moses representing the law, and Elijah the prophets, appeared alongside the transfigured Christ and the voice of God declared that this was His beloved Son, in whom God was well pleased. The disciples reacted with understandable fear to this voice but Jesus reassured them that they had nothing to be afraid of. Although Jesus instructed the three disciples not to mention this event until He had risen from the dead the deep impression left on them, by seeing Jesus in His glory, was something they conveyed powerfully in their New Testament writings.
