Descending from the mountain, where Jesus gave three of His disciples a glimpse of His divine nature, the disciples ask Jesus about the role of Elijah in prophecies concerning the coming of the Messiah. Jesus points them towards what John the Baptist had been doing in heralding His ministry. Among the multitudes again Jesus’ disciples lack of faith is demonstrated by their inability to cast out a demon from an epileptic child. After performing the miracle of healing Jesus challenges the men to have faith, as even the smallest amount can be used by God to do amazing things.
