Oops!

Jesus is petitioned by the mother of two of His disciples, James and John, that they should be seated on either side of Jesus in His kingdom. Although her intention is to benefit her sons by her request, Jesus warns all three that they don’t realise what they are asking to receive. Are the two disciples prepared to drink the cup that Christ will have to drink and be baptised with the same baptism? Although James and John assure Jesus that they are ready to do what He says, Jesus tells them that deciding who will sit on either side of Him in heaven is up to God the Father.
