Oops!

Jesus, in answering the disciples questions about the fate of the Temple in Jerusalem and when He would return, does not give, to our eyes, a straightforward linear timeline of events. Instead Jesus uses the prophetic structure familiar to His listeners, a series of cyclical descriptions of events, some that will happen in the lifetime of the disciples and some still in our future. One thing is very clear however, followers of Christ will always face opposition and persecution.
