This Psalm was one of those written to be sung by God’s people on their way to Jerusalem for one of the three mandatory, annual feasts. It reassures us that the Lord will be with us on our journey through life offering us shelter from the pressures and evils of everyday existence and ultimately He will preserve our souls for eternity.
