Oops!

Trying to ease the pressure on Jesus, His disciples turn away some children that have been brought to Him. Jesus tells His close friends not to keep children away from Him as the kingdom of heaven is for those who have a child-like attitude. Moving on, Jesus has an encounter with a wealthy young man who wants to know what he should do to gain eternal life. Taking his time to focus the man’s attention on the true reason why he hadn’t as yet, done what was required to enter the kingdom of God, Jesus begins by telling him to keep the commandments. Then Jesus asks the young man to sell what he has and give the money to the poor, a sacrifice the wealthy man was not prepared to make.
