John the Baptist pointed to the one who would come after him, drawing attention to the spiritual nature of the baptism that this Messiah would provide for those who turned to Him. Pastor Patrick reminds us that it is also Jesus who will sift the wheat from the chaff, gathering the wheat – those that follow Him – into the barn and disposing of the chaff – those that reject Him – in the unquenchable fire.
