In the custody of the Centurion Julius, Paul along with Luke, the author of Acts, set sail for Rome. Paul spiritual character quickly allows him to establish a positive relationship with his captors and the crew. But after failing to heed Paul’s warnings not to leave the port of Fair Havens, the ship and all on board are placed in peril by a severe storm. However Paul is able to demonstrate the amazing power of God in fulfilling his promises to his people, when he assures the Centurion that all on board will survive, although the ship will be lost, as God has told Paul he will go to Rome.
